Can Chemicals in Body Care Products Correlate to Breast Cancer in Women?

It’s astounding how many young healthy women have breast cancer. One piece to the puzzle may be chemicals found in body care products.

According to an article written by P.W. Harvey, Department of Toxicology, Covance Laboratories, the most common group of chemicals called parabens have been detected in human breast tumor tissue, indicating absorption of this chemical. Parabens have been shown to be oestrogenic (to mimic the action of female hormones). Many breast cancer tumors are fed by estrogen. With $20 billion worth of chemical laden personal care products sold every year it sends up a big red flag on why breast cancer is so prevalent.

Healthier options are available for skin care products. Ingredients from plant based sources like organic shea butter, almond oil, cocoa butter will offer skin softening results free of toxic chemicals. Research the ingredients in your body care products. Education and prevention is critical to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
